Create your own one-of-a-kind ceramic keep cup — designed by you, finished by Shaka.
You’ll start with a wheel-thrown cylinder made by Brad, then build and shape your own clay lid however you like. From there, you’ll move into the Shaka design process: roll out clay, choose your favourite cutters and stamps, attach your details, and add textures, slip trailing and finishing touches to make the cup completely your own.
No pottery experience is needed. We’ll guide you through the whole process and help you turn your ideas into a functional keep cup you’ll actually want to use every day.
What you’ll do
During the workshop you’ll:
- Start with a wheel-thrown Shaka cylinder
- Shape and attach your own clay lid
- Roll and prepare clay for decoration
- Choose from our cutters, stamps and texture tools
- Cut and attach your decorative pieces
- Add textures, slip trailing and finishing details
- Personalise the cup in your own style
- Choose your glaze colours
Once finished, we’ll take care of the drying, glazing and kiln firing in our studio.
Your finished keep cup will usually be ready for collection in approximately 3–4 weeks.
