Ceramic Charcuterie Board Workshop

Create, shape and decorate your very own ceramic serving board — completely from scratch.

Our Ceramic Charcuterie Board Workshop is a relaxed, hands-on 2-hour pottery experience where you'll transform a large slab of clay into a completely unique serving piece, designed by you.

Go classic with a long rectangular board, create something organic and wavy, or dream up a shape that's entirely your own. We'll guide you through each stage of the process, from cutting and forming your board through to adding all the little details that give it that signature Shaka style.

No pottery experience needed — we'll show you everything along the way.

What You'll Create

You'll begin with a large, prepared slab of clay and decide exactly what shape you'd like your charcuterie board to be.

Once your shape has been cut, we'll teach you how to fold, form and compress the clay to create the structure and raised edges of your board.

Then comes our favourite part — decorating.

You'll have access to our collection of Shaka stamps, cutters, textures and pottery tools while learning techniques including:

  • Attaching clay details and embellishments

  • Stamping and imprinting designs

  • Creating texture in the clay

  • Slip trailing

  • Layering different decorative techniques

  • Finishing and refining your piece

There are no set designs you need to follow. We'll demonstrate the techniques and help you along the way, but how your final board looks is completely up to you.

Choose Your Colour

Once your board is finished, you'll choose from one of our three Shaka glaze colours:

Pearl · Aqua · Pink

We'll take care of the rest.

Unlike some of our workshops, all detailed glazing is included in your ticket price. Our studio team will glaze your entire piece, including all of the stamps, textures and decorative details you've added during the workshop.

Your board will then be professionally kiln fired and finished, ready to become a beautiful, functional piece of handmade pottery for your home.
